Fr. John-Paul Hopping

Fr. John-Paul Hopping was born to George & Mary Hopping in California. He comes from a family of two boys and five girls. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from California State College, Fullerton. While in college, he worked at Disneyland and then after graduation, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Orange County, CA, in the accounting department. Deciding to explore the more spiritual side of life, he attended St. John Seminary in Camarillo, California, a suggestion of his parish priest. He received his Master’s degree in Divinity in the summer of 1985, and was ordained that same year as a priest, in the Diocese of Orange. It was the invitation of Archbishop Burke that Fr. John-Paul came to be Incardinated, by Archbishop Robert Carlson, into the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 2006. His first assignment was at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Saint Charles. He was then appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish in Ferguson (2009 - 2015), St. Luke the Evangelist and Sacramental Minister of Immaculate Conception in Maplewood (2015- 2017) and St. Peter in St. Charles (2017-present).

Fr. Fred grew up in South St. Louis and is the second of four children (2 boys and 2 girls). He attended St. Agnes School graduating in 1953 and then graduated from St. Louis Preparatory High School, Cardinal Glennon College and Kenrich Seminary. He was ordained on April 3, 1965 at St. Louis Priory, not at the Cathedral due to the installation of the Center Dome Mosaics. He has been assigned as an associate at St. John the Baptist Church (1965-1971), Immaculate Conception Church in Arnold (1971-1976), St. Mary in Bridgeton (1976-1980), Our Lady, Queen of Peace in House Springs (1980-1986). As a Pastor he was assigned to Sacred Heart Church in Elsberry, MO (1986-1994), St. Robert Belarmine in St. Charles (1994-2005) and at St. Vincent in Dutzow, MO (2005-2007). As Senior Associate at Mary, Queen of Peace in Webster Groves, MO (2007-2009) and now at St. Peter Church (2009-present).

Deacon Larry Boldt

Deacon Larry was ordained June 5, 2010 by Archbishop Carlson and assigned to St. Peter Church. He and his wife Mary moved to St. Charles county in 1980 and before being assigned to St. Peter they have been parishioners at All Saints in St. Peter and St. Cletus in St. Charles. Deacon Larry serves the parish by assisting at Mass, conducting Perpetual Help Devotions, directing the parish RCIA parish process, and much more. In addition to his church ministry, Deacon Larry retired from Orasi Software as a sales and marketing executive. Deacon Larry and his wife Mary have two grown daughters and five grandchildren.

Deacon Fred Haehnel

Deacon Haehnel was ordained a deacon for the archdiocese in 2009. He joined St. Peter parish in 2015. St. Charles Borromeo was his first assignment as well as his first parish after arriving in the City of St. Charles. Deacon Fred assists at Mass, helps with RCIA, presides at baptisms, weddings, and funerals. He also takes communion to the St. Charles jail.He was a native of the Peoria, Illinois area. He and his wife Cindy moved here around 1986 and have five grown children. Deacon Fred works full time for a local bank in the trust department.

Deacon Tim Dallas

Deacon Tim was ordained June 2, 2012 by Archbishop Carlson and assigned to St. Monica until November 2013 when he was assigned to St. Peter part time with a hospital ministry at St. Joseph Medical Center. His family moved to St. Charles in 1998 and were parishioners of St. Joseph, Cottleville until November, 2009 when he was assigned to St. Peter to finish his Diaconate formation. He and Laura have been married since August 8, 1987 and have two children, Aaron and Beverly. In addition to his hospital ministry, he assists St. Peter Parish at Mass, performs baptisms, perpetual help devotions and benediction. He also takes communion to the St. Charles Jail.

Katie Palmer

Katie Palmer has been Director of the Early Learning Center since October 2011. Katie attended St. Peter Grade School kindergarten through 8th grade. She is a Duchesne High School graduate, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of MO-St. Louis and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Webster University. She has worked in the preschool setting for numerous years including teaching in the classroom and as a parent educator for the Parents as Teachers Program.

Marty Charleville

Marty Charleville is a long-time resident of St. Charles. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition, Orchestration & Arranging from Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Graduate of Lindenwood University with a Master's Degree in Vocal Music Education. He has two daughters, both are students at Lindenwood University.

Don Moxley

Don and his wife Dottie, married over 40 years, have been parish members since 1975. They have three sons, all St. Peter Grade school graduates, and six grandchildren. Don has served the parish in many activities including athletic association, parish picnic, parish council, and was honored to be the grade school's first computer teacher in 1997. Don and Dottie have also been involved in marriage preparation and the theatre group. They are currently members of the choir and Don is also a cantor.

Lisa joined the parish staff in 2001 as a part-time secretary. She and her husband Ted, a St. Charles native and St. Peter/Duchesne alumni, have been married over 30 years and have four sons.
