Healthy Parish 2020 will begin a 10-week exercise class on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, which will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon – 1:00 PM in the Parish Center. I’m trying to reserve the gymnasium so that we can have plenty of room. (And no stairs to climb!) The cost of the class is $10; 50 cents per class, less than the cost of a cup of coffee. We will start by praying the Angelus at 12 so please arrive a little before this time. I’ll get you registered and we’ll begin.

Please bring with you a water -drink container, and one of the following items for strength training: resistance band, two equal weight light hand-weights, a couple of bags of rice or beans, or a couple of 16- ounce cans of food. We will be discussing how you can use a number of different household articles to exercise. (No need to buy expensive exercise equipment.) Money received from the class will benefit the Healthy Parish program. We are planning a weight-loss program and a blood pressure monitoring program. For these programs we need a weight-loss scale and a blood pressure monitor. Any remaining funds will go toward purchasing health information literature for the church and the parish. This exercise class will run on a slightly different model than the one we hosted through the OASIS ExerStart program.

We will offer ExerStart again in January, 2018. To fill out the rest of the year of 2017 we will also host an exercise class from October 17 through December 14. Since this class will only run 9 weeks, the cost will be $9. Hoping to see you on Tuesday,
