Making Our Church Stronger & You Are Invited
We have two new ministries that are being initiated by our parishioners that you might want to consider joining. Both are linked to our prayer life which is essential for us to grow in our relationship with God and our parish family.
The first new ministry is open to women of the parish who are being called to help strengthening the church by praying for our new pastor, Fr. Theby.
The Seven Sisters Apostolate is a group of women that commit to praying a Holy Hour exclusively for the parish pastor - each woman taking on a distinct day of the week, thereby covering the entire week. Through the daily Holy Hour, we can support our pastor's weekly physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
If you are interested in becoming a committed sister or a substitute sister, please call Carolyn Downey at 314-412-0908 for more information.
The second new parish ministry is about praying for our loved ones to return to the Church. The prayer group is called the Society of the Found Sheep and St. Peter parish will be joining other parishes in this new ministry promoted by the Archdiocese.
There is a real exodus from the faith in many good Catholic families. This will be a compassionate group of people who will gather together in prayer for the sole purpose of asking Our Lord to find His lost and wandering sheep and bring them back into the sheepfold.
This will also be a support for families who are grieving and hurting, knowing that their children have left the Church, but also knowing that God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful. It all starts with prayer. The focus of our prayers will be done by using the rosary/chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This ministry will begin on Tuesday, November 14th. It will be held in the St. Peter Adoration Chapel from 2:45 to 3:45 pm. Rosaries/chaplets will be provided. We will then continue to meet once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Everyone is welcome to join whenever they can and we ask that you prayerfully consider joining us. Now is the time to gather our loved ones back into the arms of the Lord.
