An Encounter With Mercy: Advent Video & Discussion Series.
To be better prepared to celebrate the Season of Advent, we are offering a 3-part video series entitled: Forgiven: The Transforming Power of Confession, that explores the grace and healing offered in Confession and shows how this sacrament of mercy reveals the depth and bounty of God's love. By looking at God's revelation of his mercy in Scripture and making a step-by-step examination of the Rite itself, Forgiven communicates God's invitation to each one of us to come experience his indescribable love in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
This Week: This week’s session will be on Monday, December 6th at 6:30 p.m. in the Adult Faith Room located in the 1924 Building. We will watch a 30-minute video followed by table discussion and a question and answer period. We will wrap up by 7:30 p.m. The second session of Forgiven builds on the first session that asks the question: Where are You? This week’s session asks the question: Are we defined by our mistakes? We are not defined by our mistakes. In Confession, Jesus invites us to encounter his mercy and be healed by his love. When he tells us "Go and sin no more," he also gives us the grace to do so. Virtual Option: If you are not able to attend the in-person sessions and would prefer to participate virtually or as a small church group, please let me know and I will provide you with the reflection questions for each session. Also feel free to email me your questions and comments.
