Over the past years, it’s always been something of a dilemma operating across the street from the front doors of a major hospital, as well as near a mecca for Missouri tourism, St. Charles Main Street. I’m pleased we have a wonderful health center like St. Joseph’s, I’m also very proud of the advancements that St. Charles has made on Main Street. But it’s also a predicament when regular parish activities that allow us to function as parish are compromised. For quite a few years we have leased out a part of the parish center lot to the hospital for the surgery center. We obviously have St. Peter parish needs to conduct… large funerals, weekend weddings, expanded hiring of teachers in the Early Learning Center, children on playgrounds playing, Card Parties, receptions, etc. in the Parish Cener.
Therefore we have had to restrict parking to parish activiites only and have not renewed the lease with the hospital. Please assist us by letting people know this is our property. St. Joseph’s has a parking garage off 4th street. Kindly advise them to use it.
