THE MINISTRY OF CHARITY: JESSE GIVING TREE
As we prepare to celebrate the Incarnation of Our Lord and Savior, we are called to reach out to our families in need. Our Jesse Giving Tree has been a mainstay of our parish for numerous years.
While it has evolved due to changing circumstances, this outreach ministry has supported over hundreds of families with food baskets and Christmas gifts. This year we continue the process that has been successful over the past few years as we look to make it easy for you to support this ministry. Here is how it works:
· No need for you to go shopping for gifts either in person or online.
· No need for you to wrap gifts you would have purchased from a store or online.
· No need for you to purchase gift cards for the Jesse Tree.
· Instead, your donation will go towards purchasing gift cards for our families in need.
· This allows each family member to decide how best to spend them for what they need.
It begins the weekend of November 23/24 and ends Sunday, December 15th.
· From the Jesse Giving Tree located in the Chapel Gathering Space, chose a gift ornament tag with an attached envelope.
· Place your donation (cash or check) in the envelope attached to the gift ornament tag.
· For online givers using WeShare, you can make your donation directly to the Jesse Tree.
· Return the gift ornament tag with the envelope in the Sunday collection or turn into the parish office no later than Sunday, December 15th.
· Gift cards will be delivered to families in need along with a food basket on Saturday, December 21th.
The Jesse Giving Tree ministry is an annual initiative of our St. Vincent DePaul Society and supported by our deacons and their wives.
