Holy Week

Holy week is the most powerful and prayerful week we live as Catholic Christians. We journey alongside Jesus and his Apostles, from the Last Supper to the Garden of Gethsemane, his arrest, crucifixion, and ultimate sacrifice. It culminates in the Easter Vigil, symbolizing the joy of the empty tomb and welcoming new members into the faith. We invite everyone to join us in these deeply moving and beautiful liturgies, honoring and celebrating these pivotal moments in Christian history.

Monday-Wednesday, March 25-27 – Daily Mass
6:30 AM – St. Peter

8:00 AM – St. Charles Borromeo

Wednesday, March 27
7:00 PM – Tenebrae – St. Peter

Tenebrae is where we break open the Liturgy of the Word with readings from sacred scripture and sacred music to prepare for the events of the Holy Triduum. The church is gradually darkened until the silence at the end is broken by a loud crash, symbolizing the earthquake at Christ’s death.

Adoration until Midnight – St. Charles Borromeo

**Altar of Repose - just as the disciples were invited to stay up with the Lord during His agony in the garden before His betrayal by Judas. Please keep a reverent atmosphere of silence as you leave, including in the gathering space.

The Easter Vigil is the greatest liturgy of the entire year in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church. The Roman Missal guides the celebration of this great night and even refers to the Easter Vigil as the “mother of all vigils” which is quoting St. Augustine from the 5th Century. So, the Easter Vigil has real history. To learn more, click here.
