Last Call for your plastic caps / lids & aluminum cans!!!

5th Grade Girls Community Service Project

Thanks to your help, the girls are in reach of their goal to collect 400 lbs of plastic caps and lids to be recycled into a park bench.  They will host their final collection after all masses on Sunday, September 24 (please give to one of the girls or adult volunteers – do not leave unattended at church).  As a reminder, the goal of their project (in addition to creating a new park bench) was to keep the plastic caps and lids from falling through the cracks of the recycling equipment and ending up in the land fill (where it takes 500-1,000 years for the plastic to decompose).  With the conclusion of their project the girls would like you to place the lid back on the container (i.e. screw the cap back on the bottle) before placing it in the recycling bin.
