Parish School of Religion - PSR
Seton Regional Parish School of Religion
Give your child the Gift of Instruction in the Catholic Faith!
In the April 11, 2021 Bulletin we announced Our New Venture in PSR. The PSR students from St. Peter and St. Robert Bellarmine will merge with the students of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, to form a Regional PSR. By design, this new venture will work in coordination with our other youth evangelization programs serving students attending Seton Regional Catholic School, Sacred Heart Academy, Home School, and High School Youth Ministry.
Seton Regional Parish School of Religion provides students with a foundation in Catholic teachings and values. This includes preparing your child to complete the sacramental journey of initiation into the Catholic Church begun at his/her Baptism. Sacramental preparation includes the following:
- First Reconciliation, generally celebrated in the First Semester of Second Grade
- First Communion, generally celebrated in the Second Semester of Second Grade
- Confirmation, generally celebrated in the Eighth Grade
Please remember that, although these Sacraments are generally celebrated as scheduled above, our Guidelines require that Candidates for the Sacrament of First Communion and Confirmation must participate in two years of instruction in either a PSR Program or Catholic Elementary School immediately prior to reception of each Sacrament.
Seton Regional Parish School of Religion is staffed with Catechists to provide quality instruction in the Catholic Faith. It is important to remember that the Parents are the Primary Educators of their children in the Faith and are expected to be involved with the catechists and support their efforts through follow-up with the students between scheduled classes.
Classes are held on Wednesday Evenings at Seton Regional Catholic School, #1 Seton Court, St. Charles, MO.
Seton Regional Parish School of Religion is open to Registered Parish Members or Saint Peter Parish, Saint Robert Bellarmine Parish and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parishs only. Classes are offered to Students attending Public Schools or Home Schooled Students in Grades K-8. Families are expected to be practicing Catholics according to the Catholic Education Statement. Each Family is expected to be involved in Parish an PSR activities and functions.
