Directory of Ministries and Organizations

Saint Peter parish currently has four vocal ensembles and twelve cantors.  Our largest vocal ensemble leads congregational singing at the 9:00 am Mass on Sundays from Labor Day weekend through Pentecost, as well as during other primary liturgies, (e.g. Christmas Eve, Holy Week) throughout the year.  In addition, smaller vocal ensembles support congregational singing at the 5:00 pm Saturday  and 11:00 am Sunday Masses during this period.  Choir rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in the church choir loft.  Resurrection Choir leads congregational singing during funeral Masses and services.

Cantors guide the congreations during Masses and other liturgies throughout the year.  As such, they must be able to read music and understand the liturgy.  Cantors are auditioned, and training is provided.

Anyone high school age and older is welcome to sing in any of the vocal ensembles or to be auditioned and trained as a cantor.  Please consider being a part of the Saint Peter music ministry.  Greater numbers not only result in lighter work, they add fullness and flexibility to that work and enhance our liturgies.
